This bi-weekly update of our One Room Challenge space is all about the details. We are trying to create not only a functional space for our closet needs but also a pretty one. And thank goodness we don’t have to compromise on either!

Week 1 – Week 2 – Week 3 & Week 4
Now, I wanted to get the bang for our buck with this closet system and wanted to add certain elements that would upgrade them and make them feel high-end.
Below is the list of the must-haves that I wanted to incorporate in the space along with some examples and links where to find them.
Full Disclosure: We are not affiliated with any of these stores nor will we gain any benefit if you purchase anything. We mention these for inspirational purposes and to give due credit for the pictures.
Specialty Hangers
I want hangers specifically for pants and hangers specifically for shirts. Yes, we could’ve used any type of hanger. But I wanted pant hangers since they rise a little bit more and allow us to have more space and add a bottom shelf under the hanging spaces. We wanted thin low profile hangers so that the closet wouldn’t look cluttered and so that space wouldn’t be wasted by the added thickness of some of the more fancy hangers available.
Valet Hook
If you want to get your clothes ready ahead of time then you can definitely appreciate this. It’s just a hook where you can hang the clothes that you will wear next. Even though we don’t go out that much, on those special occasions I would like to be able to have set up my outfit before time.
Drawer Specialty Organizers
I wanted one drawer, especially for jewelry. So of course we invested in some budget-friendly velvet jewelry organizer inserts. I also got some boxes for my Marido’s ties and belts. This will help to keep them all in place and neatly arranged.
Baskets
For those out-of-season and overflow items it’s always good to have a place for them, and what better than some cute baskets that will add some warmth to the space.
Area Rug
Something to soften up the space and that will feel comfy on our feet is why we chose to have an area rug in the closet.

As you can see, you can upgrade your closet with little effort. Like they say ‘It’s the little things’. Keep following along with us in these last couple weeks of the ORC as we incorporate these much-needed elements and make our space function for us.
What about you, are there any must-haves that you wish you had or already have in your closet? Comment and share below as we would love to hear them. Once you are done here go ahead and check out what the other designers are up to in their spaces. With only a few weeks left we are sure everyone is giving it their all to complete their rooms and transform them into an amazing spaces!
