Classically Modern Colonial Kitchen – Week 3-6 Update

One Room Challenge Spring ’22

Welcome to our Kitchen Remodel One Room Challenge update. We are actually doing a mashup of weeks 3, 4, 5, and 6! So if you missed weeks 1 and 2 or can’t remember where we last left off just head to this handy link!

Week 1 and 2 of The Spring ’22 One Room Challenge

With only a couple of weeks left in the One Room Challenge featuring Apartment Therapy on its 10th Anniversary, we’ve got quite the laundry list ahead of us to finish the kitchen.

What’s been done!

  • We Opened the wall from the kitchen to the living room which was non-loadbearing.
  • Gutted the whole space including all the drywall.
  • Rough electrical and venting for the range hood has been done.
  • New drywall primed and painted.
  • We partially installed the cabinets.
  • Apron front sink installed.
  • Countertops measured, layout done, and installed.

What we need to do!

  • We still need to install upper cabinets, refrigerator, and pantry cabinets.
  • Tile backsplash.
  • Outsource floating shelves.
  • Create an accent wall so that the wall behind the island doesn’t look boring.
  • Finish electrical, lighting, and plumbing.
  • Finish flooring.

Full disclosure! We probably won’t be done by the 20th but we should be pretty close. But the most important part is we get to share the creative process behind our designs that we put so much effort, love, and work into. And It’s great to share it with a community that loves and sees beauty from so many different perspectives.

So we do hope you’ll stick around and see how this baby turns out! We promise it will be worth the wait!

Now go and check out how the rest of this season’s One Room Challenge participants are doing this week and check out all the progress everyone has made!
